Mother Nature Win of the Day: Andrey Pavlov‘s photographs are so legit, they should be included in Barney Stinson’s office collection of motivational posters.

You Bring Me Hope
For me, the most enjoyable aspect of early spring is seeing all the blooming flowers and sprouting leaves. What’s not to like is the ever changing weather. This weekend we were hit with some grueling torrential rain.
I took this photo with my 55-250mm telephoto lens, which has become my go-to lens for floral photography. While the subject of a photograph is obviously very important, I like to also seek out interesting and pleasing backgrounds. In addition to its close focusing capability, the 55-250mm also has the benefit of creating a nice creamy background, mainly the result of its long focal length.

New Beginnings
Spring arrived earlier than normal this year. Not that I’m complaining about it (not sure which one is worse, snow shoveling or lawn mowing?). Some of the trees have bloomed flowers already. Others are sprouting young leaves.
